Martha El-Amin was born on January 2, 1947, in Garyville, Louisiana, to the late Roosevelt Miles and Beatrice Lee Miles. At an early age, her family relocated to Marrero, Louisiana, where she met and later married the late Wilson Collins El-Amin. Martha later moved to Franklinton, Louisiana where she raised her family and built a life rooted in love, faith, and dedication. Martha was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Martha's kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched the lives of many.
On August 12, 2026, Martha El-Amin peacefully departed this life surrounded by her loving family. She leaves to cherish her memory three devoted children: Latif El-Amin (Priscilla); Sadat El-Amin and Saleem El-Amin (Kendall). She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, one sister, Louise Watkins (Gilbert); one aunt, Gladys Batiste; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Roosevelt and Beatrice Lee Miles; her daughter, Almire El-Amin; her son, Zaboor El-Amin; her grandchildren, Amir El-Amin and Christian Stokes; and her sister, Mary Ann Brown.
Though she is no longer with us in body, the love, wisdom, and memories she shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of family, compassion, and strength will continue to inspire future generations.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00pm Saturday September 5, 2026 at King Carters Reception Hall 1215 Greenlaw St. Franklinton, LA 70438.
