Engine 72 is looking good on the Washington Parish Fairgrounds. When Fair time rolls around, the old engine remains a consistent attraction. The engine was built in 1924 and worked hard for decades. It was donated by Standard Gravel to the Fairgrounds and in the early 2000's the late Franklinton Mayor Earle Brown organized a fundraising campaign to restore it. Today, it shines in its prominent position on the Fairgrounds, just past the Rodeo Arena.
