Franklinton mayor-elect thanks voters as his 11-vote election margin is confirmed

Darwin Sharp, who was elected Mayor of Franklinton on Tuesday, said he is deeply grateful to the town's voters for their confidence in him.
He defeated incumbent Mayor Greg Route by 11 votes. Sharp received 741 votes and Route received 730 votes.

HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) — Texas’ oldest death row inmate was executed Thursday for killing a Houston police officer during a traffic stop nearly 32 years ago.
