Some notes from the LHSAA convention

At the LHSAA convention held this past Friday there were four different proposals in the class 5A meeting to bring together select and non-select schools for playoffs. As this was a 5A proposal only and voted on only by 5A schools, it needed a simple majority to pass instead of the two thirds majority needed for a like proposal for all classes.

Intoxicated woman had child in car

Christine Lowe Williamson, 36, a resident of Dogwood Valley in central Washington Parish, was arrested on April 1 for driving while intoxicated with a child in the vehicle with her. The arrest occurred after a Washington Parish Sheriff's Office patrol deputy responded to a report of an impaired person driving a vehicle on Highway 62.
