Art show and sale attracted a large crowd

The recent Washington Parish Art Association show and sale could only be called a tremendous success. A large crowd attended to view the artwork and, in some cases, make selections for purchases. In upper photo, woodworker Johnny Green of Franklinton explains one of his pieces. The show and sale was held at the Clifton home of Sara Nelson.

Pine area church destroyed by fire

Members of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church near Pine watched in horror Sunday night as a fire destroyed the church.
The church is located just off of Highway 62 at Luke Pace Road northeast of Pine.
Firefighters from Washington Parish Fire District 4 in Pine battled the blaze. Flames from the fire could be seen for a mile.
