FHS Coach Nick Saltaformaggio is given a big victory hug by FHS Principal Shane Smith following the Demons' victory over Iowa. Coach Salt will lead his team in the championship game at the Superdome this Friday at 7 p.m. For Coach Salt and Principal Smith, taking a team to the state championship game is nothing new. Saltaformaggio took East Jefferson and Hahnville to the championship game in previous coaching stints, winning the state title with East Jefferson. Smith twice took the FHS Demons to the state championship game, winning the state title in 2010. Smith was Franklinton's head football coach prior to later becoming an administrator and ultimately, principal.
