Back in the days of house phones, rotary dial, and party lines, Hayward Partman began his employment career, as a janitor, with Southern Bell Telephone Company. He was the first black janitor hired at Southern Bell with benefits. Southern Bell later became South Central Bell and Mr. Partman's position title was changed to Custodian.
