COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting at a busy shopping mall in South Carolina’s capital on Saturday that left 14 people injured.

Franklinton Mayor Darwin Sharp looks at a temporary patch installed where the Hancock Street repair occurred. He said permanent pavement will soon be laid down to make the road smooth once again.

Following repairs to a leaking gas pipe, barricades at the corner of Hancock and Washington Street were removed on Thursday.

Editor, The Era-Leader:
Another two solar companies got ITEP approval from the state of Louisiana to establish themselves in Washington Parish.
Now our parish council must vote to approve those exemptions so that these companies can be excused from paying their fair share of property taxes.
