The home of Reverend Stephen Ellis, situated where the present-day Washington Parish Health Unit is located today. It was where many of us remember the old swimming pool. Mary Polly Magee was the seventh child of William Magee (1762-1837) and Mary Margaret James Magee (1771-1867). Born on the fifth day of May in 1807, she married Reverend Stephen Ellis (1795-1869), who was the first Methodist minister in Franklinton, in 1824.
