All 4 proposed constitutional amendments failed, new school board member is elected

Voters in Washington Parish followed the statewide trend Saturday in voting against all four of the proposed constitutional amendments on the ballot. The vote on all four of the amendments in Washington Parish was about 60% for, 40% against.
Statewide, the "no" vote was slightly higher on all four, about 65%.

The Mayor and Board of Aldermen for Franklinton met on Tuesday, October 14. With only two items on the agenda, it looked to be a short meeting once the minutes from the September 23 meeting were approved.
