Congratulations to the Mt. Hermon watermelon growers who placed in the Washington Parish Watermelon Festival contest: Justin Lebo, 1st place in the Starbrite category, weighing 61.8 lbs.; Kole Schilling, 1st place and 3rd place with two Charleston Grey melons, weighing 48.9 lbs. and 46.6 lbs.; and Karen Schilling placed 2nd with a Sweet Heart melon weighing 50.8 lbs. These folks grow the best watermelons that I’ve ever had!

The first day of school is next Thursday, August 7th. Pre-k orientation for students and parents is also August 7th at 8 AM in the school library. The first day of school for Pre-k boys is Wednesday, August 20th. First day for Pre-k girls is Thursday, August 21st. Only girls will attend this day. All Pre-k students will attend Friday, August 22nd.
Mt. Hermon Baptist Church is having a Back to School Blast this Sunday afternoon. The children will attend from 3-5 PM, and the youth will attend from 5-7 PM.
Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church welcomes anyone with any hurts, habits, or hang-ups to join us on Sunday evenings at 7 PM for our Hope Alive recovery program. Dress is casual, and you may come early for food and fellowship at 6:15. Hope Alive is a 12-step, faith based, court approved recovery program.
Hope Alive testimony night was this past Sunday. We were blessed to hear the testimony of Sis. Paula Broom. She spoke of how Jesus turned her life around. Jesus can turn your life around too!
