Happy Wednesday! School is back in session, and it has been a great week at MHS! On the Mt. Hermon School Facebook page, they are introducing a new series that highlights the dedicated individuals who make MHS a special place to learn and grow. Each week, they will feature a member of the faculty or staff to recognize their contributions and share their journey with the school and community.
This week, they are proud to spotlight Mrs. Kimber Brumfield, who is beginning her third year as a Paraprofessional at MHS. She began substitute teaching in 2022 and quickly discovered a deep passion for working in the school system. She took a leap of faith and enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education program, and is on track to graduate in May 2026. She also took on the role of sponsor for the Jackettes and Stingettes dance teams.
Mrs. Brumfield is married to Jonathon Brumfield, an MHS alumnus, and together they have two children who attend MHS. Outside of school, she enjoys baking, spending time with family, and relaxing with friends. MHS is grateful for her commitment, enthusiasm, and heart for the students.
The first Jr. High football game is next Tuesday, August 19th on the MHS field, playing against Kentwood at 5:30 PM. Open House and Meet the Jackets is September 4th at 4:30 PM.
Please be in prayer for the family and friends of Shelly Rene Taylor, Mrs. Emma Dean Brumfield Carson and Mrs. Christella Brown-Lee.
Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church is now taking orders for those delicious chicken dinners that only come around twice a year. The pick-up date is Saturday, September 20th.
This Saturday, August 16th, there will be a ladies conference in Columbia, Ms. The theme is “Empower”. All ladies are welcome!
The Sunday before the local schools began, we had a Blessing of the Backpacks, during the morning service. The children and youth were prayed over, and they all received a prayer cloth keychain with a wooden cross inside. Thank you to Sis. LeeAnna Lebo and Sis. Lisa Miller for making the prayer cloths.
That’s all for now. Have an amazing week!
