The Mt. Hermon Ruritan Club is having a boiled shrimp plate fundraiser for Friday, September 5th. Plates include 1 lb. of shrimp, 2 potatoes, and 1 corn for just $12. Pick- up time is from 12-1 PM at the clubhouse. Please place your order by noon Friday, August 29th. There is a 10 plate minimum for delivery. Tickets are available at Mt. Hermon Hardware. Sunny Hill Baptist Church welcomes all to join them on Sunday mornings at 9 AM for Sunday school, followed by the morning service at 10 AM. Also, Wednesday night Bible study at 5 PM. They are located at 34034 Sunny Hill Rd. in Mt. Hermon (end of SunnyHill, near Hwy. 450). They do have children’s church as well, so bring yourself and the kids!
Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church is now taking orders for those yummy chicken dinners. Pick-up day is Saturday, September 20th, at the church or in Franklinton. Mt. Hermon School will have a Back to School Dance this Saturday, August 23rd. Junior high students may attend from 5:30-7 PM, and high school students from 7:30-9 PM.
The next jr. high football game is next Thursday, Aug. 28th at MHS. Kickoff time is 5:30 PM, playing against the Franklinton Falcons. Come on out and support the Yellowjackets!
Open House is Sept. 4th at 4:30 PM. This is also the time to “Meet the Jackets”, where all the teams are introduced. It’s like a big pep rally!

The retired teachers of MHS recently met for their annual luncheon at Sugar Shack in Franklinton. There were 18 present! They certainly missed the ones who weren’t able to attend, but they all had a wonderful time of catching up with each other and reminiscing of their years at MHS.
