MHS is going peanut and tree nut free. This means no nuts or nut products in: brought lunches and snacks, the lunchroom, concession stands during games, and classroom holiday celebrations. Thanks for helping to make the school safe for everyone.
MHS Jr. High football team will play a home game against Franklinton Jr. High tomorrow, Aug. 28th at 5:30 PM.
Homecoming week kicked off today with Crazy Hair Day! Tomorrow (Thursday) is 80’s Day-break out the neon and big hair. Friday is Color War Day. Elementary students-wear pink, Jr. High-blue, and High School-green. Tuesday, Sept. 2nd is Black and Gold Day. Tuesday night at 5:30 is the Jr. High homecoming game, and the Jr. High Homecoming Court will be presented prior to the game.
Open House is next Thursday at 4:30, and time to Meet the Jackets!
School will be closed Monday, September 1st for Labor Day.
Don’t forget to order your boiled shrimp plates from the Mt. Hermon Ruritan Club by noon this Friday, Aug. 29th. Plates include 1 lb. of shrimp, 2 potatoes, and 1 corn for only $12. Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church is now taking orders for chicken dinners until September 12th. Dinners include half a chicken, baked beans, potato salad, bread and cake for only $12. Pick-up day is Saturday, September 20th at the church, or Jack Brown’s in Franklinton. To place an order, you may text me at (985) 515-5029.
A Multi-Family Yard Sale will be taking place only a few miles east of Mt. Hermon and 3 miles north of Franklinton on Hwy. 25 in the Clifton community. The sale begins Friday from 4-6 PM, then again on Saturday from 7 AM-12 PM. Clothing for kids and plus size women will be for sale, as well as household items, holiday decorations, and even some furniture.
The’25 Gulf Coast Homesteading Convention will take place this weekend at the Seals Family Farm located at 28781 Holland Brock road, right here in Mt. Hermon. Tickets may be purchased at http://www.guidrozfamilyfarm.com.
Kids 12 and under get in free! It will be an exciting event dedicated to homesteading, and designed to inspire and educate.
