September is here, and the hummingbirds are headed back south on their annual fall migration. Now is the time to get the feeders out and filled with hummingbird nectar, now until at least late October. One part white sugar and four parts water also works.

Stop by Mt. Hermon School tomorrow (Thur., Sept. 4th) at 4:30 PM for Open House and Meet the Jackets. Then, buzz over to the football field at 5:30 PM to watch the Jackets take on Loranger! The next game is Tuesday, Sept. 9th, 5:30 PM at Pine High School.
MHS Senior Beta Club is raffling off a beautiful handmade American flag blanket. Tickets are $1 each. The money being raised is to help cover fees and expenses for the state convention in February. For tickets, you may purchase from any Senior Beta member, Mrs. Miranda Fountain or Mrs. Tracy Phillips. They will also be selling tickets at the Jr. High home football games. The drawing will be Nov. 10th at the Veterans Day program.
“Your Vision of an Alcohol-Free Life!” is this year’s theme for the 2026 Calendar Art Contest. Students in Kindergarten-12th grade may participate. Drawings can be any form of medium, but must be turned in on a plain sheet of 8.5x11 piece of paper to the MHS office by noon, Friday, September 26th. The top 12 winners will be featured in ADAPT’s 2026 calendar!
If you ordered shrimp plates from the Mt. Hermon Ruritan Club, don’t forget that pick-up is this Friday, 12-1PM, at the clubhouse.
It’s not too late to order a chicken dinner from Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church. Sept. 12th is the last day to place an order for a delicious half a chicken, baked beans, potato salad, bread and slice of cake for only $12.
