It’s time for the Mt. Hermon Christmas Parade! This Saturday, Dec. 13th, the parade will begin at 10 AM. If you are in the parade, line-up is at 9:15 AM at Rawls Pharmacy.
Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will be visiting their Mt. Hermon friends at the Ruritan Club Saturday, Dec. 13th, from 5-8 PM. Bring your camera/phone and take pictures for free.
Mt. Hermon School
Congratulations to Mrs. Louise Hart! After 41 years of service at MHS, she is retiring. MHS is very thankful for all she has done. Mrs. Hart will certainly be missed. Have a happy and blessed retirement!
The Assistant Chiefs of the Mt. Hermon District 9 Fire Dept., Tristan Freeman and Koal Kitzler, recently visited the school to do a demonstration for Brandie Kerbow’s EMR class. Brandie is thankful of them for their time, being knowledgeable, professional, and doing a wonderful job with her students.
The Junior High School Basketball Championship is Thursday, Dec. 11th at Franklinton Junior High School.
The high school basketball teams will play against the Pine Raiders Monday, Dec. 15th, and Franklinton Demons Thursday, Dec. 18th. Girls start at 5:30 PM, boys to follow. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students.
The Lady Jackets defeated the Bogalusa Lumberjacks 59-25 last Tuesday. Then again, this past Friday, they defeated the Port Allen Pelicans 43-6. The Lady Jackets are very grateful for the support of the school and community.
Mt. Hermon Baptist Church
The deacons of the church and their families joined together for their annual Christmas dinner at Mr. Whiskers. Mt. Hermon Baptist Church is blessed to have a great servant leadership in Richard Foley, Raymond Cade, George Burch, Clif Bryan, and Tommy Hickman. They were blessed to have join them Louise Holmes and Marie Webb whose husbands are now with the Lord, but both men served the church so faithfully. It was a good night of good food and good fellowship.
Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church
The Young at Hearts will meet this Thursday, 4 PM, at Three Sisters Cafe in Franklinton. Join them for a festive, good time of food and fellowship.!
The Ladies Christmas gathering will be rescheduled for a later date.
Second Harvest Food Bank food distribution is this Saturday, from 11 AM-1PM.
This Saturday at 3 PM, the kids/youth will have a scavenger hunt. Parents are encouraged to accompany their child to assist them on this adventure.
Our Hee Haw Christmas program is Sunday, Dec. 21st at 6 PM. Lots of laughs will be had to get you into the Christmas spirit!
Mark your 2026 calendar now for January 3rd. Jason Crabb and Old Tradition will be performing in the fellowship hall at 6 PM. Tickets are on sale now for only $20.
