Crawfish season has officially kicked off at Schilling’s Farm and Market. They are located at 27371 Norman Painter Rd. For the best crawfish around and all the fixings, go check them out this Thursday from 11 AM-6 PM and over the weekend.
A FREE vaccine and microchip clinic for cats and dogs will be held this Saturday, from 12-2 PM, at the Mt. Hermon Ruritan Club. It is a drive thru clinic that is open to anyone regardless of residency. No dogs in bed of trucks. Cats must be in carriers. Friendly pets only please.
The Mt. Hermon Ruritan Club Annual Chili Cook-off fundraiser is set for Saturday, February 7th, 11 AM-1 PM, at the clubhouse. It will be a great time of community fellowship while sampling the best homemade chili in town for only $5 per person. You will also get to cast a vote for the club member with the best homemade chili.
Mt. Hermon (Dist.9) Volunteer Fire Department is now selling chicken dinner plates for $12. Dinner plates include a half chicken and all the sides. The pick-up date is Saturday, March 7th, from 11 AM-1 PM at the Ruritan Club. Homecoming Week begins next Monday, the 26th, at Mt. Hermon School. All are encouraged to show your school spirit by participating in the dress-up days. Monday-Camo Day, Tuesday-Movie Character Day, Wednesday-Country vs. Classy, Thursday-Dynamic Duo, and Friday is Black and Gold Day.
MHS will play against Holden on Friday night. The Homecoming Court will be presented, and it’s also Senior Night!

To honor School Board Recognition Month, an elementary student from each district presented each Board member with a children’s book and a personal “thank you” at the school board meeting this past Thursday night. Adalynn Brumfield, MHS second grader, presented to our School Board member, Mr. Keith Giles. We are very thankful for his continued support of our students and school.
