Mt. Hermon School was well represented by MHS students who participated at the District Literary Rally, which took place at Southeastern Louisiana University on Saturday, March 14th. Students qualifying at the district level and earning a SLU scholarship were London Strange, Morgan Strange, Kade McClendon, Evan Martin, Dewey Dillon, and T.J,,Lillie. Meggan Fountain qualified for the State Literary Rally, which will be held at LSU on April 18th.
Congratulations to the Students of the Week (last week): Kindergarten-Elijah Elzey, 1st-Amiyah Logan, 2nd-Elijah Moore, 3rd-Kaine Travis, 4th-Elyric Brumfield, 5th-Layla Brumfield, and from two weeks ago: Kindergarten-Kamdyn Stafford, 1st-London Elzey, 2nd-Kaedyn Stafford, 3rd-Ryder Starrett, 4th-River Jarrell, and 5th grade-Victoria Barreno. MHS is proud of you all!
Students return back to school Monday April 13th. LEAP Testing for 3rd-8th graders is April 15th-21st.
The annual Pleasant Hill Cemetery Association meeting is scheduled for Sunday April 12th, 2:30 PM, at the cemetery. Anyone with family and friends buried there are encouraged to come and participate in making decisions that may arise that affect the operation and maintenance of the cemetery. Also, officers and board members will be elected for the coming year.
Bogue Chitto Baptist Church will have their Graduate Recognition Sunday on May 3rd. They will celebrate the graduates of the church family. If you have a graduate --- kindergarten, high school, or college, please let them know no later than April 12th.
Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church is now taking orders for those delicious chicken dinners for only $12.00. Dinners include half a chicken, baked beans, potato salad, bread and cake. Pick- up date is Saturday, April 25th (11-1), and may be picked up at the church or in Franklinton. Wednesday, April 15th is the last day to order.
All ladies are invited to attend the Section 1 Ladies Rally on Friday, April 17th, 7 PM at the church. The guest speaker is Jeanne Gunter. You don’t want to miss it!
