Spring forward! Daylight saving time begins Sunday at 2 AM. Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead an hour Saturday night before going to bed. We lose an hour of sleep that night, but will gain an extra hour of daylight in the evenings.
The fire department would like to remind everyone who ordered chicken dinners that they will be ready this Saturday, March 8th. They can be picked up at the Mt. Hermon Ruritan Club from 11AM-1 PM. They would also like to thank all for supporting our volunteer fire department.

MHS will be hosting an Ice Cream Blood Drive on Tuesday, March 18th from 8 AM-4 PM in the school library. Students who have an adult donate in their name will be rewarded with ice cream during school at a later date. Donors will receive a “Give Life” t-shirt. Remember to eat a good meal at least one hour before donating, and please bring your ID.
Pre-k Enrollment Day at Mt. Hermon School is March 26th from 9 AM-2PM. This will be a day to learn more about the school and to enroll your child for the 2025-2026 school year. You may also enroll your child by using the new online application portal by visiting: wecapplications.com. Pre-k students must be 4 years old by September 30, 2025.
You may have received a letter in the mail or email from French Settlement/Utilities Inc. of Louisiana stating the Mt. Hermon water system will be under new management. It’s true and not a scam! The Mt. Hermon Water District will now be managed locally by Russell Passman and secretary, Annie Bickham. When you receive your bill, instructions will be given on how you can submit payment.
