MERRY, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU! Today is Christmas and we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. We also have a special fu time with our family and friends. The little ones are excited and anxious to see what's left under the tree for them. Enjoy yourself eating and visiting with your family and friends. Remember the "Reason for the Season".
Mt. Pisgah ladies celebrated a Christmas outing on Saturday, December 7th. We enjoyed a delicious seafood lunch at Mike's Catfish Inn in Amite. We played a fun game and had lots of laughs. Before returning home we went to this place where that had all kinds of neat and unusual things. We found some items that were special. We also met some nice ladies there and enjoyed visiting with them and took pictures with Santa. Enjoying the outing were Valerie Goings, Sue Alford, Janice Schilling, Florine Sorrell, Billie Lewis, Cherie Smith and me. Thanks to Sue for a safe trip there and back.
Saturday, the opening day of the Pioneer Christmas Festival was really cold and Sunday it was raining but everyone enjoyed their time seeing all of the interesting things. This was the perfect time to gift shop for Christmas. Mile Branch was decorated with the buildings open for the public to browse through. On Sunday afternoon a drawing was held. I was a lucky winner of a beautiful necklace donated by Tyler Ross Jewelers. Jackie was also a winner. Homemade candies and goodies were available for purchase.
The Senior Adult Christmas luncheon was held on Friday, December 6, at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. The MHS Student Council and sponsor, Mrs. Smith, made this time very special. Upon arrival we were welcomed, took our picture with Santa and the Grinch, then escorted to our table. We enjoyed a three-course meal graciously served by the students. We were entertained by Ms. LaHoma Vernon's students with Christmas music. Door prizes were awarded. We all got a beautiful hand painted ornament made by the students. They all were very pretty. A very enjoyable time was had by all. A "special thanks" to the MHS student council, Mrs. Smith and Ms. LaHoma. Frances Schilling and I had a great time, as did everyone else.
