Hello once again to all of you! Hope you had a blessed week. We were out of school for a week for Mardi Gras. My plans were to clean the house, but sorry to say it's still needed, because I just was not in the mood. I slept late most of everyday and just piddled around the rest of the time.
Proud parents Kevin and Breanne Cefalu announce the birth of their precious baby girl named Kallie Kay Cefalu, born on February 12, 2025, at Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge. She weighed 7 pounds-8 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. Grandparents are Danny and Rita Tate and Francis and Connie Cefalu. Great grandparents are the late Louie and Evelyn Tate, the late Charles and Pauline Brasse, the late Lloyd and Patricia Holden, and the late Nicholas Sr., and Mary Cefalu. We are very proud that Kevin, Breanna, and family are a part of our church family. By the way Kallie Kay was at church last Sunday.
A parent's night out/Valentines/sleep over was on Friday, February 14th, The sleep over was held at Mt. Pisgah Church fellowship as everyone arrived they set up their blow ups and sleeping bags and was ready for playing ping pong, corn hole and checkers. For supper everyone enjoyed pizza, brownies and along with other treats.
Ms. Rachel did a devotion on Love. They enjoyed making a craft and Valentines to hand out on Sunday. Before bedtime they watched a movie and ate popcorn. Believe it or not, when midnight came some of them were still wound up. When morning came Ms. Martha brought hot donuts. About 9 am everyone was packed up and ready to be picked up. Those who attended were Raegan Smith, Avery Miller, Suni Burch, Charlee McIntyre, and her cousin Timber, Rusty Smith, Jett Falgout, and Isiah Tate. Assisting with the activities were Cherie Smith, Alexia Trahan and Jaslyn Miller. Last but not least was yours truly- Yes, I was there having fun and spent the night. I was the maw maw of the party. Will be a night to be remembered. Thanks to Ms. Rachel Burch for making, it possible for all to have a fun time. She always does a wonderful job. We love her dearly.
Celebrating March birthday are my great nephews Tanner Watson and Jace Conerly, Zaire Lloyd, Isabella Cooper, Kalby Kitzler, Brittney Nicole Watson, Kalyn Bazell, Angela Bailey, Paul Bailey, Ruth Bailey, Frances Mier, Cade Garcia, Johnny Hamilton, Hillis, Barber, Dokata Borne, Rusty Stevens, Ethan George, Hunter Geller, LaQunicy Stewart, Colby Stokes, Walter Kaufmann, Parker Wilkes, Donrico Turner, Drayce Smith, Amanda Tate, Toni McDonald, Simone Jones, Jacob Gros, and Tyre Brumfield.
Parades, King Cake, parties and lots of glitter and glitz were enjoyed celebrating Mardi Gras. Whether you attended parades or just enjoyed some R and R I hope it was a special week. Several people in our area attended the parade in Bogalusa and the Sunday afternoon parade in our town. Congratulations to Cody and Alana Wise who were King and Queen and to Jeff McElveen who was Grand Marshal of Krewe of Pepe's parade. Due to the weather some parades were cancelled, and times were changed. My friend Cherie Smith and the children visited her mom in Lockport and went to see two parades down there. They had a great time visiting family and going to the parades.
Christian sympathy is sent out to the families who have lost beloved ones. Pray for the family of Margie Thomas Barber, the family of Ella Sumrall, the family of Beryl Schilling and the Donald Long family. We have several on the prayer list at church.
