It's Springtime Folks!
We surely have been having some beautiful spring weather. This is what we're all being looking forward to. It makes you want to get outside and do things in the good. The azaleas are in full bloom everywhere and are a beautiful sight to see.
Our mission ladies will meet on Monday, April 7 at 1 PM in the church fellowship unless otherwise stated.
The Washington Baptist Association senior adult revival is April 7, 8, and 9. Franklinton First Baptist Church was host on Monday, Bogue Chitto Baptist Church on Tuesday and Thomas Baptist Church on Wednesday. 9 AM is fellowship, 9:30 AM is choir practice and service is at 10 AM. Lunch will follow each day. Our ladies will provide desserts for the meal on Tuesday.
Fifty-two ladies attended the seasonal ladies luncheon held in the fellowship hall at the Bogue Chitto Baptist Church. As everyone registered, they were given a number for the table they would sit at.
Guest speaker was Vayou Smith. She shared about the ministry she and her husband Russell did for years. Her family moved from Washington Parish to Circle, Montana where they were church planters through the home mission board. They have three children, two girls and a boy.
It was special to visit with her. She and I reminisced about me going home with them and helped with summer Bible camp in the Badlands. When my stay was over Russell took me to Billings, Montana to fly back home. I came close to missing my plane. They had changed the place where I was to board. Thank the Lord, this young guy called to tell them to wait for me. He took my luggage and we both ran as fast as we could. By the way, this was my first time flying. We arrived at the New Orleans airport. Seeing Lloyd and the kids made me feel really good. I am thankful I had the experience going to Montana and helping with Bible camp.
Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal of ham, potato salad, green beans, and desserts. Ladies from several churches were in attendance. Frances Schilling and I were from Mt. Pisgah church. We all had a nice Saturday outing.
My granddaughter, Breanna and her husband, Tyler, and children carried me to the circus on the last night. A huge tent was set up on the midway, on the Washington Parish Fairgrounds, with inside seating. They put on a great show with animals, unusual tumbling acts, air acrobats, and much more. We had a great outing.
Happy April birthday to the following special ones, my great grandson Gage River David, my great granddaughters Trinity Dennis and Tara Dennis, Leanna Magee Kerbow, Patty Alford, my cousin Alvin Ingram, Dana Pierce Barber, Jamie Dillon Volt, Jessie Dillon Jenkins, Ms. Mary Tate, Rose Tate, Calvin Tate, Janson (Peanut) Burch, Dan Slocum, Cecil Burch, Robert Heck, Korey Edwards, Trent Miley, Zayden Rayon Tate, Jason Miller, Rebekah Miller Falgout, Hayden Lebo, Arayah Hughes, Raylee Hughes, Samantha Bankston, Jayla Washington, Kaylen Grace Anderson, and Liz Freeman.
