Happy New Year to all my faithful readers. Hopefully you had a great Christmas with your family and friends. Today is the first day of a brand-new year 2025.
This Christmas has been a special one, but different for me. I've been places I had never been before, met some new people and done things I've never done before, and even learned some new things. I visited Bolivar Church and attended my first pajama party. Keep on reading to find out about my new adventures.
On Saturday night, December 14th, my friend Frances invited me to go in with her to Boliva Baptist Church to see a live nativity scene and lights. The church was beautifully decorated with Poinsettias, gorgeous arrangements and lighted up inside and outside. Another highlight of the night was singing for a while with Juiet Schilling playing the piano. We also enjoyed hearing Juiet, Melinda, and Katherine, sing. If you have never heard them, you have missed out on a special treat. We enjoyed singing Christmas songs and hymns. We also met Pastor Tim, his wife and other visitors. Everyone enjoyed delicious hot chocolate and homemade cookies.
Monday night, December 16th, I put my Christmas pajamas on and drove to Frances Schillings home. We were all excited and were on our way to Tylertown to my granddaughter's Jennifer's for a fun night. We played several games, one being, guessing how many chocolate kisses are in a container. Believe it or not I was the winner. Everyone brought a gift of slippers/unusual socks and played sneaky Santa. When someone chooses a gift, you could steal it if you liked it. Some gifts traveled around the room; at the end of the gift, you had was yours. We enjoyed good food, games and lots of laughs. Attending were Jennifer, Breanna, Tammy, Cathy, Jenny, Frances and I. My little great granddaughters Alaya, Emily and Ava also had fun. This will be a night to remember, my first pajama party! Ha! Ha!
The children presented their Christmas program on Sunday night, December 18th. They sang and read scriptures of the Christmas story. They did an excellent job, and we all enjoyed it very much. Thanks to those who worked to make the program special. Following the program everyone adjourned to the fellowship hall for a variety of goodies and visiting.
Our church family had their Christmas dinner on December 15th following the morning service. Everyone brought their favorite dishes for the meal. We had a blessed time of food and fellowship. We also presented Bro. Lenard with a Christmas gift, a study Bible. He loved it. There was no Sunday night service.

Continue to pray for the sick, and shut-ins in our community and surrounding area. Also remember the families who have lost beloved ones in your prayers. I talked with Mrs. Donice Thomas and she is suffering with a sciatic nerve problem. Please pray for her and others on the prayer list. Also pray for Evelyn Burch. She had a procedure on her foot.
Washington Parish Schools will return on Wednesday, January 8th. Back to the books and learning. Be happy you have had a nice holiday vacation.
