Hello to all my faithful readers! I do believe it is summertime! The past few days have been about 90°, but seemed warmer than that to some folks. Many of us have been looking forward to summertime and you got your wish. By the way, I've had my AC on, and it sure does feel good.
Our ladies hosted the Washington Baptist women on missions and ministry on Saturday, May 3rd. Rain was predicted, but the Lord gave us a beautiful day inside and outside. We had a total of seventy from fourteen or fifteen churches in our association. Our director, Ivy Kennedy, presided leading a fun game called "Fine the Sister Results", and "Let's T-A-C-O about prayer." Birthdays were recognized. I presented a "Mother's Day moment". Jaslyn Miller entertained with a beautiful song and her keyboard. Several door prizes were awarded. Our own Rachel Burch decorated the fellowship hall in a fiesta theme. Colorful backdrop and tables carried out the theme for the Ladies Fiesta Fellowship. Everyone enjoyed a taco bar with all the trimmings, beverages and desserts. We were thankful that the ladies from Clifton provided all the yummy desserts. We had nineteen people attending from our church and were presented with the pretty banner. We can only keep it for a month and pass it on to the church with most attending the next meeting.
The young and the young at heart had fun breaking the piñata at the close of the meeting. They loved all the sweet treats out of it. A special thanks to our sweet ladies who provided and prepared the food for the meal. They all did a super job. The day was filled with lots of fun and chitchat. We were truly blessed to have had such a wonderful day.
