Greetings once again! We've been out of school for three weeks and I haven't gotten much accomplished. I am feeling better from the poison ivy/oak, but not completely well. By the way, thanks for the prayers.
Bryan and I are enjoying veggies from friends, yellow squash, zucchini, squash, new Irish potatoes, and cucumbers. We also have a couple tomatoes that are ripening in the kitchen window. We're looking forward to having a fresh home-grown tomato. I have had my first watermelon, a seedless one. It tasted good and sweet. Actually, it was better than I thought. Homegrown Washington Parish watermelons are the BEST. Will probably see them out being sold around the Fourth of July.
Happy June birthday to Ms. Anna Dillon, Harriett Dillon, Courtney Burch, Renee Fortenberry, Brittany Hodges, Bailey Moore, Brooke Burch, Ashley Smith, Ava Mae Rogers, Xander Quave, Sawyer McElveen, Dewayne Smith, Logan Jones, Kenryna Deshawn White, Kaycee Blackwood, Sabrina Duncan, Brody, Austin and Preston Hickman, Jessie Danyell Pounsey, Dalton Warren, Darlene Garcia, Russell Garcia, Paige Marie Magee, Ms. Grace Magee, Callie Brock, Tyler Crain, Dylan Clark, Alton Colman, and Tyalvin Tate.
The Washington Baptist Association women's missions and ministry gathered at Sunny Hill Church for the "Showers of Blessings Ladies" luncheon. Everyone enjoyed a time of fun, food and fellowship. A table was filled with an assortment of foods, such as sandwiches, meatballs, fruit tray, chips and dip. The delicious desserts were provided by the Bogue Chitto ladies.
Miss Miley shared a beautiful testimony and special music with a young lady from the host church. Door prizes were drawn. Sunny Hill ladies were presented with the banner by having the most in attendance.
Ivy Kennedy was happy to have a large amount of "blessing" items that will be sent to five different ministries. They are Pack a Purse ministry, Moving Mountains ministry, Prison ministry, local pregnancy center, and the local food bank. Items for these were brought by those who attended the luncheon. Attending from Mt. Pisgah were Martha June Smith, Frances Schilling, and Nell Smith. A great time was had by all.
It was great hearing from my friend Jennifer Bankston Dillon. We enjoyed a great visit over the phone. She hasn't been feeling well. Please add her to your prayer list.
Pray for the sick, lonely and shut ins, ones who had surgery and are recuperating. Also pray for the dear families who have lost beloved ones.
Thought for the week! Tell me and I may forget; show me, and I may remember; involve me and I'll understand --- Chinese proverb.
I'll visit with you next week - same time - same station. Keep on "SMILING". Prayerfully Nell.
