Hello, Hello, Hello,
I counted a blessing to visit with you all every week. Hopefully you are enjoying yourself and keeping cool. At the time of this writing, it has rained every day for 6 days straight. Everything is wet and the grass is growing fast. Surely you have heard the ole saying, "Rain, rain go away come again some other day," when the ground is bone dry. We do know that when the Lord sends the rain there's a reason. He always knows what is best for us. Let's try not to complain about it. Ok!
I attended Dairy Day on Wednesday June 11th at the Southeast Research Station. On Thursday I attended the funeral of Bro. Frederick Brumfield at Palestine Baptist Church. Chris Burch went with me on those occasions.
Happy June Birthday to the following. Hope your day was a special one, Jacob Eder, my Elvis singer, Heather McGehee, Chrisandre Coleman, Taliscya Causey, Jeslyn Boudreaux, Jaelyn Grace Jones, Brady Cauglin, Dewayne Cartes, Arion Dillon, Hunter Stokes, Byron Hyatt, Cody Schenk, Dajenille Walker, Levi Gerbity, Shelton Luneau, Ja'Micheal Fortenberry, Jayden Pickett, Alton Coleman, Remy Ferrier, Hayden Painter, Dakota Cambre, Joborean Jordan, Logan Smith, Zaveon Riley, Isaiah Sumrall, Brennan Tastet, Bentle Hebert, Levi Alford, Ryder Starrett, Yovani Barreno, Sha'vonne Dyson, and my dear friend Jenny Warren.
Remembering my dear friend Carolyn Lebo. She was called home on Friday, May 9th at age 77. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 13th with her nephew, Rev. Darryl Miller, officiating. Burial was at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. The Mt. Pisgah ladies prepared a meal for the family and friends following the service, held in the church fellowship hall.
I remember the time when Covid was rampid and people didn't get together as usual, Ms. Carolyn called to see if I could use some eggs. In a couple of days she sent Albert to my house with the eggs. As he drove up, blew the car horn and left the eggs on the ramp. On another occasion at church, Albert asked if I wanted to come pick some figs. They had been picking the figs and wanted to share. That week I would be at camp with the children. To my surprise, they picked the figs and put them in the freezer. If you know anything about figs, when they begin to ripen, they need to be picked, or the birds would come in the early morning to get their share. I don't remember the year, but the wonderful strawberry fig preserves were so good, especially with hot biscuits. Albert and Carolyn had a good heart and loved sharing with others. They are both missed by their family and friends.
Celebrating a June wedding are Micheal and Angela Stafford, Toney and Cindy McBeth, Bobby and Valerie Goings, Lance and Lori Schilling, Mack and Kathleen Brown, Kevin and Minda Raybourn, Richard and Pam Bailey, and Brian and Jessica Goings.
Marguerite Lapani was in the Riverside Medical Center for a few days, but is now at home. Please pray for her and others who are not feeling well. Also pray for Bro. Fred Brumfield's family and the family of Mary Ada James. Their family is hurting, due to their death.
That's all for now. I'll visit with you next week. Keep on Smiling. Prayerfully Nell.
