Greetings to all of my faithful readers who look forward to reading my weekly column. You don't know how much I appreciate you, especially when I see you and you tell me that you enjoy hearing from me
So far, everyone has been enjoying summer vacation but guess what: It will soon come to a close. The first day of the new school year 2025-2026 begins on August 7th. During the summer students have been going to camp, attending Vacation Bible school, playing sports, and enjoying time with family and friends. It will be back to books and learning.
We're still collecting soups for the help center. A basket is available in the back of the church for the collection. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Our campers will come home tonight, Wednesday, July 23rd. We look forward to hearing all about their fun and what they learned.

My son Bryan's birthday was Monday, July 7th. I made him seafood gumbo for supper. On the Thursday before I treated him to BBQ at Hearts in Kentwood. He enjoyed his treats.
My Elvis singer/friend Jacob Edder celebrated his birthday on June 27th. Happy belated birthday to you from your Mount Hermon and Franklinton fans. Hope you enjoyed your special day. We love you!
Members of Franklinton First Baptist Church enjoyed a family freedom Sunday celebration/retreat held at Hunt Branch Lake on July 6th. Everyone enjoyed a relaxed afternoon of fellowship and good food. The young people played volleyball and tennis, and enjoyed the water. Chris Burch invited me to go with him. It was a nice afternoon. We sure did enjoy a good hamburger with the trimmings and homemade poundcake, and ice cream. I had never been there before. It sure is a pretty place.
Please pray for the Texas flooding. My heart goes out to all the families who lost beloved ones in the camp. I saw a picture of a lady hanging in a tree waiting for help. Also pray for the sick, shut ins, lonely, and bereaved, in our community and our country.
