Hello once again to all my wonderful and faithful readers. I am so glad and thankful that you enjoy hearing from me each week. I pray you all are doing good and keeping cool on these hot summer days. Before long the coolness-Autumn days will come, and the days will begin to get shorter. It's raining here today for the second time. We must need the rain and maybe things will cool off a bit. Hang in there!
Several people from our church attended camp at Camp Living Water during the summer. They had a great time. Thanks to Russell and Cherie Smith, who took time out of their busy schedule to make plans and carry the children to camp. There will be more details about their time at camp in my next writing.
Our Washington Baptist Association Women's Mission and Ministry, Saturday, July 26th, gathering was hosted by Palestine Baptist Church ladies. A total of ninety-two were in attendance with several churches represented. Again, our director, Ivy Kennedy, did a great job. Everyone enjoyed a brown bag lunch of chicken salad croissant, ham and cheese croissant with cupcakes as dessert. An individual fruit or pecan pie was placed at all the place settings. Several door prizes were drawn. Mrs. Tanna' and her ladies did an outstanding job with decorating and the meal. By the way, they had to present, and they presented the banner. It was special getting to visit the ladies. Attending from our church were Cherie Smith, her daughter Alekea and Reagan and me.
Happy belated birthday to Ms. Christian King who celebrated her birthday Wednesday, August 13th. We hope you had a blessed birthday.

Monday night, August 11th, Jacob Eder came to town and was at a concert at Bayou Place on Greenlaw Street. We had a packed house, and everyone had a great time listening to Jacob sing. I can truly say I had a fabulous time. I had family members and numerous friends that came. Pictures and videos were differently capturing the event. Most of those attending had never seen Jacob perform. The concert and dinner were a fundraiser for the D.A. Varnado Store Museum. My sister was instrumental in getting the event scheduled. Terry Seal and her team were well pleased with the turnout and for all those who supported the fundraiser.
Christian love and sympathy goes out to the family of Jennie Warren. Pray for them and others on our prayer list. Also, I pray for our pianists Billie Lewis, Mrs. Dorothy Krueble, and Lorell Morris.
Until next writing, take care and keep on smiling, prayerfully Nell.
