Greetings to you! I'm happy to visit with you again as you relax in your favorite chair. Ha! Ha! I've been to school four days straight as of today, Thursday. We got some rain on Tuesday afternoon. As I was leaving school it began to pepper down. It has been days since we had any rain and it was getting a bit dry. The rain was welcomed and seemed to cool things off and was a bit cool for a couple of days.
Special emphasis on State Mission and the Georgia Barnett offering. Prayer guides were handed out to everyone and asked that they pray for our state missionaries and give to the offering. Our offering will help support the missionaries and their ministry as they share the good news of Jesus. What will your offering be? "It is more blessed to give than to receive."
Our mission ladies gathered on Labor Day for their monthly meeting. The highlight of the afternoon was a surprise birthday for Martha Miller. We had a delicious, decorated cake with "Happy Birthday Martha", chips and drink. We made up three sunshine baskets. Several were named for prayer. We had circle prayer remembering those in need and our missionaries. Attending were Sue Alford, Frances Schilling, Janice Schilling, Valerie Goings, Martha Miller, and I.
Everyone is still talking about the fun time we all had when Jacob came to Franklinton for the D.A. Varnado Store Museum concert. For Jackie and me it was a great time. We went to our friend Patty's wedding on Saturday morning August 9. To our surprise, Jacob was there. He performed at the wedding and sang to the couple. After the cutting of the wedding cake and reception, Jacob sang for a while on the patio. That night we went to Hammond to hear him singing and then again on Monday night, August 11 in our town. What a weekend! It will surely be a special time to remember. Who knows maybe Jacob will come back for another great time for us. When Jacob comes back, will surely let you know.

I visited Franklinton First Baptist Church with Chris for the "Forks up Sunday" night. It was a nice service with a meal to follow.
Quennel Lewis and Zaydyn Tate play on the Franklinton Association football team. They played Kentwood on Saturday, September 6th and won with the score of 42 to 38. Quennel made six touchdowns. Their grandmother Rose Tate is very proud of them. Coach Rondo is also proud of his team. Keep up the good work boys. Make your parents, grandparents and your coach proud. Aunt Nell is proud of you also.
Sympathy is sent out to all the dear families who have recently lost beloved ones. Our prayer is that you will be comforted by the prayers lifted up for you.
Thanks to all of you who support me each week, visiting with me as I shared tid-bits with you. By the way, the first day of autumn is September 22nd. Maybe cooler weather is on its way. Keep Smiling, Prayerfully Nell.
