Fall Greetings to all of you!
Well, it is the middle of November, and the temperature has definitely changed. Hopefully, the cooler weather and the time exchange is agreeing with you. For me it has been cold at my house, matter of fact Tuesday, November 11th the temperature was 27 degrees at 5 am. Now I think that is cold. I know some of you are loving it and that is ok. I will just put on another jacket. Ha! Ha! I saw on Facebook a few days ago where it was snowing somewhere in Tenn.
Enough on the weather. Now my thoughts on the time change. It gets dark too early for me. It takes me til mid afternoon to get myself going and boom --- it is dark. Well, as the saying goes; I cannot do anything about it so, just go with the flow.
Our fair has come and gone for another year but was fun and exciting while it lasted. Everyone enjoyed the fabulous parade, the exhibits, the entertainment, Mile Branch, the food, even though they were expensive, and of course, the midway. I enjoyed music down by the branch, but my favorite was Saturday night on the main stage. I thought the Platters, The Coasters, and the Drifters were the best. I usually do not stay at the fair after dark, due to my driving. Even though they were the last entertainment on the stage, I wanted to see them.
. Their music brought back fond memories when Jackie and I saw them at Las Vegas years ago. I do not remember the cost of the tickets, but they were more than a few dollars. Ha! Ha!
I enjoyed them so much, Jackie talked me into going on midway with her. It had been at least three years since I went on the midway. It was fun seeing and hearing the youth screaming as they rode the rides.
Several MHS 4-Hers got ribbons on their writings, pictures, and crafts at the fair. caught ribbon on their writings, pictures, and crafts at the fair. I did not get to find out who entered exhibits but, I am proud of them for entering their items. By the way, I entered brownies with nuts and brownies without nuts. I got blue ribbons on both and best of show for brownies with nuts. Last year I did not enter anything, and I could not let that happen again.
Our church was in charge of singing at the Moon Baptist Church, coffee, and water at Mile Branch. On Saturday brother Percy played his guitar, and Billy played the piano. Randall led the music. We only had six or seven of our people but were thankful to have others joining us singing good ole gospel hymns. When we left Bogue Chitto Baptist Church was there for their time to sing. It is truly a blessing to have a part and showing God's love.
October was pastor appreciation Bro Lenard was presented with a good-looking rod & reel. He loves fishing. Maybe there will be a fish fry soon. Ha! Ha!
Several things at MHS have been going on. The recent Fall Festival was lot of fun for the students. A couple of weeks ago was "Red Ribbon Week". Jr. Football season is over. Now that basketball season has begun, we need to support our team. Come out and enjoy seeing them play. I look forward to going. Check their schedule to see when and where they are playing. They will be happy to see you.
