Season greetings to all! Hopefully you all had a blessed Thanksgiving Day with your family and friends enjoying a great meal and visiting. Thank the Lord for our many blessings every day of life. Now that Thanksgiving is over it's time to focus on getting ready for Christmas. Our churches are making preparations for Christtmas programs music and gatherings. As time goes on everyone will be extra busy making plans.
Students, teachers and school personnel enjoyed a week off for Thanksgiving and time spent with their family and look forward for the Christmas break, about two weeks or so.
Bryan and I had Thanksgiving lunch together. Later I visited with the Burch's --- Charlie Burch had family and friends for late lunch. They also celebrated the birthday of Evelyn Burch. After the meal we all enjoyed a piece of the beautiful, tasty birthday cake. Family members there were Barbara, Brenda, Sara, Chris, Shelby Jr., Brett and son, myself and Evelyn, the birthday girl. Her birthday was on November 27th, same as Thanksgiving. Everyone enjoyed time together.
Several family members and friends gathered at the home of Dewayne and Marilyn Gulsby the Saturday before Thanksgiving Day. They had a great meal and blessed time together.
Tricia Wood Thomas is so happy to have her first precious grandbaby Miley Jayne Thomas who was born on October 1st at 11:40 am at St. Tammany Hospital, weighed 7 pounds 3 oz and measured 19 ¾ inches long. The proud parents are Tristin and Morgan Thomas. Grandmother is Tricia Wood Thomas and great grandmother Sue Wood of rural Franklinton.
Howard James of Lake Charles recently came home to visit with his family. He came home for the fair and stayed several days afterwards. His sisters are Evelyn and Marilyn.

Many of you already know that my sister Lorell Morris passed on November 29th. It's been a hard week for me and my family, but by the grace of the good Lord we will get through it. I'm so thankful for our family and many friends who came to be with us on Tuesday night and Wednesday. Also, for the love and prayers during this time of grief.
Please pray for the sick, lonely, shut-in and bereaved in our community and surrounding area. There are many needs around us that need our attention. Please join us in praying for these needs.
