Hello all! Season Greetings from me to you! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in our community and the town of Franklinton. I've been seeing lots of twinkling lights and Christmas decorations. Christmas Day is fast approaching, only 8 more days til Christmas. If you are not ready, you best get yourself in high gear. As you know time waits for no one.
We surely have had some beautiful days and thank the Lord for the rain we needed. As time goes on, it will be cold again. Let's face it, it's wintertime.

My niece Rebekah Rose Bedwell recently got married. The beautiful ceremony was held at the Oaks Wedding and Event Center in Ponchatoula. The lucky guy is Justin Shane Mascaro. Greg drove Jackie and me to the wedding. Congratulations to Rebekah and Justin. Also, thanks for including us to share in their special day.
The Washington Baptist Women's Mission and Ministry meeting will be held at Springhill Baptist Church on Saturday, December 20th, beginning at 11 am. All ladies are invited for some Christmas fun.
The Washington Baptist Association Women's Mission and Ministry Ladies Lift Conference was held at Plainview Baptist Church on Saturday, November 8th. The theme was "There is a time for everything under the Heavens" Ecclesiastes 3:1. Guest speakers were Linda Hendry and Debbie Littell from Two Rivers Association. After lunch, breakout sessions were led by Elizabeth Kennedy, Ivy Kennedy and Morgan Mullet. Ladies across the parish were in attendance. Frances Schilling and I attended the Lift Conference and enjoyed hearing the speakers and visiting with everyone.
A bridal shower was held at Hillcrest Baptist Church honoring Miss Alison Plaisance bride-elect of Mr. Preston Knight. It was good to see Preston and meet Alison. They received numerous nice gifts and were very appreciative for those who came to the bridal shower. Everyone enjoyed refreshments and chit-chat.
I enjoyed going to my first Mount Hermon Yellow Jacket basketball game. The team they played was Port Allen Pelicans. The girls won their game by a score of 43-6. The boys played hard but couldn't keep up with them. The final score was Port Allen 71 with MHS having 23 points. I always loved to play basketball when I was in school at Thomas School. I also enjoyed seeing everyone and getting a good ole hot dog. If possible, come out and support our Yellow Jackets.
Continue to pray for Sue Alford who had knee surgery and others you know about. Also, I pray for the family of Linda Whaley who recently passed away.
Until next writing be safe. Keep on Smiling. Prayerfully Nell.
