Wintertime Greetings! Well folks, I think winter is here. We have had some very low temperatures. Hopefully it won't get too bad. Let's face it, we may not like the cold but it's that time of year. Bundle up to stay warm when outside.
Bryan and I were invited to have lunch with Jay and Laurie Schexnider on Christmas Day. We enjoyed a wonderful meal with them and other family members. Laurie's chicken pie was a hit, one of my favorites. Her huge lighted decorated Christmas tree was simply gorgeous. It's always a treat to bring food home for another meal. Before returning home, I visited Ms. Mary Tate. She had family with her also. Calvin insisted that I bring home some Shrimp pasta and gumbo. We had food for another day. Praise the Lord for such caring and loving friends, that seem like family.
A great time was had when family and friends gathered at the home of Jenny Padgett on Saturday afternoon, December 21st for their Christmas. Jenny welcomed everyone to her beautifully decorated home inside and outside. The lighted Christmas tree and arrangements added a special glow for the occasion. An array of finger foods and hot dogs were set up outside. To take the chill away was a nice inviting bonfire. They always include me, and I love to be with them. I don't see some of their family very often. The lighted Franklinton Christmas parade was at 6pm. Several of us went to see the parade to close out a great day.
On Christmas Day family members enjoyed dinner at Charlie Burch's house. Attending was Jose', Chris, Sara, Barbara, Brenda and Brett. They enjoyed the meal and playing Cajun Christmas.
