Winter Greetings to all my faithful readers. First of all, let me say I've experienced some rainy-cold days. I was at school on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday it rained all day mostly and Wednesday was really cold. As I stood outside in the morning car line the wind was whipping and I was happy to get inside.
Guess what, my friends, Jacob is coming to Franklinton on Monday night January 26th. I'm happy you'll be there for a good time. See you there.
Over the holidays Bryan and I enjoyed lunch with Laurie and Jay Schexnider. I was with the family at Charlie Burch's. On New Years day we had our traditional meal. New Years Eve I visited with Mr. Johnnie and Kathy Watkins. She makes the best home-made rolls and hot tamales. The great grandkids enjoyed fireworks.
Calling all ladies! There will be a Quilt Seminar on Saturday, February 7th, beginning at 10 am til 2 pm at the D.A. Varnado Store Museum Anex. There will be demonstrations, quilting/ sewing tips and door prizes. You will need to register. The cost is $12 for members and $15 for nonmembers. By the way, the museum is open every weekend to see the quilts, old and new, on display. Saturdays 10 am-4 pm and Sundays 1 pm-4 pm. The admission is free and open to the public.
The Teddy Bear Tea for girls aged 5-10 years old was a great success. They were accompaned by their mothers The Fair Queen Madeline Willis read the Christmas story. The young ladies each got a teddy bear, a gift for their mom, a gift for dad, and a goodie bag. They also had a visit from Santa. Refreshments were enjoyed and all had a fun time.
