NATIONAL SUMMARY
Thunderstorms could produce instances of flash flooding and
isolated damaging wind gusts in portions of the interior
Northeast and lower Ohio Valley tomorrow. By the evening,
the risk of severe weather could reach the northern
mid-Atlantic coast. In Vermont, any downpours can lead to
renewed flooding. In portions of the Plains, thunderstorms
may also turn severe and can bring flooding downpours, hail
and damaging wind gusts. Afternoon thunderstorms will dot
the northern Rockies and southern portions of Arizona and
New Mexico. Elsewhere across the West, extreme heat will
continue to bake much of the region. Temperatures over 100
degrees Fahrenheit are expected in the central valleys of
California and across the Desert Southwest. Much of Texas is
also likely to have temperatures over the century mark.
