The Nation's Weather for Thursday, October 5, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
An area of high pressure will continue to create conditions
more typical of early September rather than early October in
much of the eastern half of the nation tomorrow. Sunshine
will be abundant after patchy early morning fog. An
exception will be in central and South Florida, where
thunderstorms will erupt. A strong cold front will bring
steady rain in addition to drenching showers and
thunderstorms from Michigan through eastern Texas. Damaging
winds and heavy downpours are likely in some of the storms.
Cool air will sweep across the Plains and western areas of
the Midwest as well as hold over the Rockies while warmth
builds farther to the west. Much of the West will remain dry
with the exception of a few showers across Montana.
