The Nation's Weather for Sunday, May 12, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Rain and thunderstorms will rumble across the central and
southern Plains for much of the day tomorrow. Some storms
can be locally severe with the main threats being damaging
winds and large hail. Persistent downpours can also lead to
localized flash flooding across the region. Elsewhere,
spotty showers and cool conditions will persist across the
Great Lakes and Northeast. Higher temperatures will begin to
spread across the Ohio Valley and the Southeast with a good
deal of sunshine. However, humidity will still remain
relatively low across most of the Southeast. A building
ridge of high pressure will promote plenty of sunshine and
building heat in the West. A few showers will dot the
central Rockies, but otherwise, the West will remain dry.
