NATIONAL SUMMARY
Additional rain can lead to flooding problems in South
Florida tomorrow. Portions of the mid-Atlantic will have
their hottest day so far this year, but thunderstorms can
bring hail and damaging winds. Over interior locations, hail
and damaging winds could occur on a more localized basis.
Flooding downpours, large hail and damaging wind gusts can
all occur with thunderstorms in the northern and central
High Plains. Gusty winds and excessively dry weather will
result in a high fire threat in central and eastern Arizona
and western New Mexico. Eastern Utah, western Colorado and
central and eastern New Mexico can expect a couple of
thundershowers in the afternoon. A pattern change in the
Pacific Northwest will bring cooler air and a few showers.
Triple-digit heat will remain in place in the Southwest.
