The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, September 6, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A slow-moving front will continue to push eastward and bring
rain to much of the Northeast, as well as embedded
thunderstorms farther south in the mid-Atlantic tomorrow. In
these areas, rain may be heavy at times and can lead to
flash flooding in low-lying areas. This will especially be
the case in spots that also received heavy rain in prior
days. Additional showers and storms are expected farther
south, from the Carolinas to the Texas Gulf Coast. However,
any heavy rain will be much more isolated in these areas. A
persistent heat dome will remain in place across the West,
with high temperatures likely surging to some of their
highest levels this week. Numerous daily record-high
temperatures are expected to be broken, and dangerous
wildfire conditions will stay in place.
