NATIONAL SUMMARY
As a cold front and area of low pressure continue to move
slowly eastward tomorrow, periods of light to moderate rain
will continue in the Northeast, mainly outside of northern
New England. Conditions will generally improve throughout
the day, and rain will likely be lighter than in recent
days. Farther south, scattered showers and storms are likely
from southwestern Virginia, to coastal Texas, as well as on
the Florida Peninsula. Extreme heat will continue across the
Intermountain West, with many daily record highs once again
threatened. The most intense heat is expected in the Central
Valley and California deserts, where high temperatures are
likely to approach or exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit once
again.
