The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, January 18, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A pair of winter storms is expected to dive southeastward
out of Canada tomorrow, bringing snow, chilly air and gusty
winds to the northern Rockies and Upper Midwest,
particularly across Montana, Idaho, North Dakota, Minnesota,
Wisconsin and Michigan. There can also be some light rain
showers in the Northwest as areas of morning fog persist in
Washington and Oregon. A spotty shower is anticipated in
parts of Southern California and Arizona; otherwise, high
winds are forecast for parts of New Mexico into Texas. The
gusty conditions combined with dry foliage can increase the
threat for wildfires. In the Northeast, morning flurries
could persist, but overall, cold conditions and high winds
will dominate. Most of the Southeast will turn warmer,
except for some areas along the Atlantic coast.
