The Nation's Weather for Saturday, December 17, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Snow showers will occur around the Great Lakes, Appalachians
and in much of New England tomorrow. Some rain can mix with
the snow in coastal portions of Maine, New Hampshire and
Massachusetts. A bit of rain is expected to dampen the Gulf
Coast. Arctic air poised to plunge into the Northwest and
northern Rockies will be preceded by some light snow in
interior Washington, northern Idaho and northern Montana. In
western Washington, slightly warmer air will allow for any
spotty precipitation to be in the form of rain. The
Southwest and southern Plains can expect a dry day. Despite
dry weather in the northern Plains, temperatures may be up
to 20 degrees below normal. This will be especially true in
North Dakota. Temperatures may get just above freezing in
the Northeast, but melted snow can refreeze overnight.
