The Nation's Weather for Thursday, December 22, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A rapidly strengthening storm will produce snow and wind in
much of the Midwest tomorrow. This system will continue to
intensify and become a full-fledged blizzard at the end of
the week. The Ohio Valley and Northeast should be warm
enough to have rain, although precipitation may begin as
snow in the interior Northeast. Even where precipitation is
just rain, wet roads may lead to travel disruptions. Snow,
ice and rain will begin to move into the Pacific Northwest.
Overnight and through the start of the weekend, ice will
become a significant concern. The northern Plains will be
dry, but wind combined with extreme cold can be dangerous
for outdoor activities. Only the Southwest and Florida will
escape the cold, although Florida will also turn
unseasonably chilly by Christmas.
