The Nation's Weather for Saturday, March 18, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A secondary cold front will bring locally heavy snow squalls
tomorrow, particularly downwind of the Great Lakes. Even
where snow does not fall, a cold and breezy to windy day is
expected. In fact, a large expanse of the nation can have
temperatures below the historical average. The only
exceptions will be New England, South Florida and the West
Coast. Rain and mountain snow will stretch in a swath from
southern Colorado through New Mexico and eastward across
southern Texas. Meanwhile, a few thunderstorms in the
northern Florida Peninsula will have the potential to
produce flash flooding and isolated damaging wind gusts. Any
rain along the coast of North Carolina should move offshore
early in the day, while damp conditions will linger farther
south.
