The Nation's Weather for Friday, April 21, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Thunderstorms can bring flash flooding and damaging winds
from south-central Kentucky to eastern Texas tomorrow.
Meanwhile, snow showers can occur in colder air in the
Dakotas and western Minnesota. Snow showers and some valley
rain can also affect parts of Washington and Oregon, much of
Idaho, western Wyoming, northern Utah and the Colorado
Rockies. Ahead of the cold front causing the thunderstorms,
record-challenging warmth will surge northward into the
mid-Atlantic. Widespread temperatures in the 80s F will be
found from western New England southward. Some locations may
even reach or exceed 90 F. However, locations near the
Atlantic Ocean will be much cooler. Some places along the
immediate coast may not get out of the 50s F. The Desert
Southwest and South Texas will be seasonably hot.
