The Nation's Weather for Monday, May 1, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A chilly air mass will be in place across the western Great
Lakes tomorrow, bringing the potential for heavy snow across
much of the western half of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan
and even into parts of northern Wisconsin. Most areas
farther south and west through the Ohio Valley should
receive rain instead, tapering to showers through interior
portions of the Northeast; coastal New England should remain
dry. The Southeast will also dry out after days of
thunderstorms, with a warming trend expected through the
center of the country as high pressure assures generally
quiet conditions. Elsewhere, the Southwest is expected to be
mainly dry, but an advancing storm will mean the chance for
showers at times from the Pacific Northwest into the higher
terrain of Northern California and the Intermountain West.
