The Nation's Weather for Sunday, May 21, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
With a cold front continuing to push southeastward tomorrow,
scattered showers and storms will be possible from the
Carolinas into Georgia and Florida. Severe storms are
unlikely here, but the stronger storms can produce heavy
rain. Farther north, with the departure of a coastal system,
much drier, clearer and cooler weather can be expected. In
the southern High Plains, scattered storms are set to
develop during the afternoon across Colorado and New Mexico,
pushing into Texas during the evening. A couple of severe
storms, containing hail and damaging wind gusts, will be
possible. A few additional strong storms are possible east
of the Cascades in Oregon. Otherwise, abnormal warmth will
continue in the Northwest.
