The Nation's Weather for Friday, May 26, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Thunderstorms can again bring hail and damaging winds from
southeastern Montana southward to West Texas tomorrow. A
gathering area of low pressure will rotate rain back to the
coasts of North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.
Farther south, thunderstorms will rumble through the Florida
Peninsula. The low will also cause unusually rough surf and
rip currents from the Outer Banks of North Carolina to
northeastern Florida. Meanwhile, afternoon thundershowers
will dampen the interior West, especially in the higher
elevations. The day can start with low clouds and even areas
of drizzle in parts of Southern California. Much of the
Northeast will be dry, although Maine can have some light
rain in the morning. Portions of the interior Northeast and
New England could have morning frost or even a freeze.
