NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Police are investigating three killings that occurred over the weekend in New Orleans, including that of a person who was found dead in the French Quarter.
A male was found dead late Sunday at the intersection of Burgundy and Conti streets following a shooting, police said. Authorities didn't release the name of the victim or announce any arrests.
A man was found suffering from a gunshot wound a few blocks away a short time later, but it wasn't known whether there was a connection between the two people. That victim was taken to a hospital by car, police said.
On Friday, an 18-year-old and a 23-year-old man were shot to death in New Orleans East, and a third person showed up at a hospital with injuries. Police said they didn't know the identity of the person who was wounded, and no arrests were made immediately.
