Parish school board held its meeting at Franklinton High School

The Washington Parish School Board held its regular meeting on April 17 at Franklinton High School. The invocation was offered by FHS Student Council Chaplain Kelby Brown. This was followed by the presentation of colors by the FHS MCJROTC under the command of Major Lecompte and Sgt Diaz.

Council contracts with company to inspect and maintain Franklinton's fire hydrants

Franklinton Mayor Darwin Sharp and the Board of Aldermen met for a regular meeting on Tuesday, April 22. The Mayor gave the invocation and Alderman Randy Reed led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance. The Board then voted to approve the minutes of the March 25 and the April 8 meetings.

Lt. Gov. to attend firefighter appreciation breakfast in parish

Louisiana Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser will highlight an appreciation breakfast this coming Saturday for Washington Parish firefighters.
The event is set to begin at 8 a.m. at the District 7 fire station on Bill Booty Road.
Some local elected officials are also planning to attend.
